innovation in technology and application

Rehabilitation with pipe liners is a subsection of trenchless sewer rehabilitation. In 2015 alone, more than 1,400 km of pipe liners were installed in Germany. A steadily growing proportion of that involves UV light-curing technology. Thus this method ranks among one of the technologies most used for rehabilitation of decrepit sewers. One of the most significant differences of the UV pipe liner technology in comparison to the warm-water curing method is its fast installation speed. Thus it is possible to rehabilitate up to three rehabilitation sections in one day.

The Brandenburger Liner BB2.5 consists of GFRP (glass-fibre reinforced plastic) and is cured by UV light. What makes it special is the patented wrapping technology, which we have used for over 20 year to produce more than 7,000,000 metres of liner in total.

The pipe liner is wound into a hose with pre-impregnated glass-fibre rolls. This creates a uniform wall thickness and a complete penetration of the resin in the glass can be guaranteed by the prior impregnation. This guarantees that there are no faulty points in the material and a full-surface pure resin layer forms on the surface of the pipe liner.
